Court overturns massive coal mine approval on climate grounds - Sydney Morning Herald

Johnson Legal Principal Lawyer, Anita O’Hart, represented local Hunter Valley residents of the Denman Aberdeen Muswelbrook Scone Healthy Environment Group (DAMSHEG) in the NSW Court of Appeal. DAMSHEG challenged the Independent Planning Commission’s approval of MACH Energy’s Mount Pleasant Coal Mine expansion on grounds that included the failure to consider climate impacts on local communities.
