The United Nations versus Murray Watt - The Australian
Johnson Legal Director, Elaine Johnson, discusses the significance of an application made in our client’s case, Friends of Australian Rock Art, by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the human right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. The application has been made to assist the Federal Court of Australia in its determination of our client’s appeal against the decision to approve Woodside’s North West Shelf gas extension. The Special Rapporteur will assist the Court on issues relating to human rights and climate change, as an amicus curiae (or “friend of the court”).
Principal Lawyer Anita O’Hart is the solicitor on record in the case, representing our client Friends of Australian Rock Art, together with Senior Associate Asha Keaney.
