Johnson Legal Director, Elaine Johnson, talks to Cat Woods about proposed amendments to mining regulations in NSW in a changing climate. Commenting on the energy transition and the phase out of coal in NSW, Elaine states:

“A major concern for local communities who will remain in place long after the companies have gone, is how that transition takes place. What financial and environmental costs and liabilities will be left for communities and the government to pay for, after the mining companies have up and left?”
